Today, we’re spotlighting Mr. Dogara Usman, the master mind/Lead of the Government Business-Federal team. And his journey to being as valuable and great at his job as he is today. So, let’s dive in!
What drew you to join the Remita dream team? Share your story!
I was inspired by the quest to develop business environments across the FinTech Space and to position Remita as the leading brand in the Nigerian FinTech Market.
Wow! You had big dreams. What’s your impact story, and how do you tie it into Remita’s vision?
I started my career as a Project Support Executive and learned through challenging business environments to develop several FinTech businesses across the public and private sectors, providing business support to our clients, mentoring team members, managing our businesses and working closely with colleagues and the management to continue entrenching the Remita brand towards the vision of increasing our market share and positioning Remita as the leading payment solution in the Nigerian FinTech Market.
What do you love most about your role and the working environment at Remita?
I love and derive great joy when Remita is deployed in a new business environment and the customer enjoys the smooth process of moving money electronically from one destination to another, thus making payments easy.
Collaboration is topnotch — I enjoy the cordial relationships and impactful engagements that exist across all the departments in Remita and how a Business Manager must learn how to engage across all these departments to make sure he develops new businesses and keeps managing the existing business environment.
Fantastic! So, what’s something about your role you never saw coming?
I never saw myself leading FinTech business discussions about Remita to top government functionaries and Chief Executives in the Federal, State, and Private sectors.
Wow, you’re boss! Can you describe the zeal level of the people of Remita and what would you say to people who want to be part of the team?
Remita is full of very passionate people who are zealous about the Remita brand. For people who want to join the Government Business-Federal Team of Remita, they should be passionate about providing business support to our customers, understanding and ready to learn the government business and the policies, solid presentation and relationship management skills.
Also, a strong Remita modules Product knowledge and grasp of the FinTech Market Space is very imperative.
What’s a typical workday like for you?
A typical workday starts by joining the corporate prayer session and then proceeding to virtual meetings with team members, Solutions Delivery, Customer Experience, and other departments to ensure our products are actively in use by our customers.
Physical meetings do happen with our customers to review and deploy our solutions, working with relevant departments saddled with such responsibilities. Reporting to the Divisional Head and providing updates to the MD on several new and existing businesses and strategies for expansion, entrenchment, and managing the entire team members and business. It’s usually very busy.
We see that now! So, what’s something that makes you really proud to be working at Remita?
The culture and the passion exemplified by the staff and the management of Remita towards the pursuit of excellence and a strong conviction to trust in God always for direction and blessings.

When I am with my family, loved ones, and friends at events.
What’s your favorite weekend/fun activity?
Watching, and analysing football and politics with friends, colleagues, and subject matter experts.
If you had one genie wish, what would it be? Think big!

My passion and commitment while doing my job could be mistaken as being aggressive, impatient, and insensitive.
